I always say that BDSM is a beautiful journey of self discovery. It is something fluid, it can change over time and nothing is set in stone.
My BDSM journey started in late 2017/ early 2018 and since then I have learned so much. Connecting with people, learning about new kinks, trying them out and figuring out what does and does not work for you. Building relationships with submissives and figuring out what does and does not work in that particular relationship.
I've been discovering BDSM for about 6 years now, and there is still so much to learn. One of my new years resolutions is to follow workshops and go to events more to connect with people.
As I mentioned, I see BDSM as fluid. Meaning that everything can change at any time. Something that worked 3 years ago doesn't necessarily works now. You may have noticed that I talk alot about connection, as for me it one of the most important things. Besides connection, trust and communication are on top of the list. I need a base connection to not feel like I am smacking a sack of potatoes, once the base connection is there, I need trust and clear communication to dive deep and expand the base connection.
